Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of Mrs. Brown's Boys characters, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 00:10, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Does anybody know how to be a good Wikipedia editor? I don't want to make mistakes! Dudeofrebel (talk) 23:51, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Dudeofrebel! To be a good Wikipedia editor, firstly have good motivations, meaning that you put Wikipedia and its readers' benefit ahead of your own. Secondly, think twice about any edit you make, such as telling us that Ethan Crumbley, whose date of birth is given in the article, is now 16, rather than 15, which was his age when he killed 4 people. And thirdly, think about the messages being sent in the edit summaries left by people who revert you. Happy editing!-- Quisqualis (talk) 16:28, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Quisqualis, thank you for the advice, I'm trying my best but I often find mistakes on Wikipedia pages, I'm trying my best but I don't wanna be the worst editor. I'm trying to be the best I can be, nobody can be perfect.
I know Wikipedia is not a blog but I'm trying to add some details for the pages.
Thank you for your message. I appreciate it. Dudeofrebel (talk) 17:41, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing: citing sources

[edit]

I see that on Kaun Banega Crorepati, you seem to have made edits based on your experience of watching the show. In general, Wikipedia is based on paraphrasing what reliable, published sources unconnected to the subject have already said. In the case of movies and TV shows, plots don't have to be paraphrased from sources. However, the rules of any game show should be sourced in a citation. Otherwise, we are only providing our personal perceptions in the "voice of Wikipedia", and Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog. So, proceed with caution there, in order to avoid "Original research".--Quisqualis (talk) 16:43, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

CS1 error on Kevin Ashman

[edit]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Kevin Ashman, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 15:45, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help and advice. I often struggle with adding references properly. Dudeofrebel (talk) 17:16, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
